Do you offer helpful hints for using the Crayon Carver?

We’d like to help get your Crayon Carver working! We have some troubleshooting tips to share with you. My Unit worked once or twice, but no longer turns on OR my unit never worked and won’t turn on: Your batteries should be new and the same brand. Use a full-size Crayola crayon. Crayons should be new to fit correctly in the chamber. Place the adapters on both sides of the crayon (regular size crayons only). After you pulled the lever and inserted the (regular size) crayon with the 2 adapters into the matching grooves, is the lever all the way right or left? It should be somewhere in between. The ON/OFF switch should be at the on” (1) position. Close the clear lid and the carving tip position on top of the crayon in between the clear lid slot. My unit does not carve crayons: The unit should be turned on” to position 1 (versus 0). Use a full-size Crayola crayon. Crayon should be new to fit correctly in the chamber. Look at the release lever on the right of the unit. You pull it to the right to insert the crayon. Make sure it returns close to the middle of the space; not off to one side or the other. You should hear a click” when the crayon is firmly in place. Try turning your crayon. It should not move when it is properly inserted. Close the lid. Press crayon firmly when carving! You may have to trace the tile a few times until the carving is clear. For additional assistance, call us at 1 – 800-CRAYOLA weekdays between 9 AM and 4 PM Eastern Time

Get the best results with these tips for cleaning your Scribble Scrubbies Pets.

Scrub Under Running Water:

  • Gently scrub your pet under running water after play. Use the scrub brush to help release the marker inks from the tiny fibers (flocking). Do not wash your Scribble Scrubbie Pets in the dishwasher or bathtub.

Allow to Dry:

  • Allow your pets to dry before a second use. Colouring on damp pets can cause the ink to wick under the fibers, making the colour harder to rinse away. Let your pet air dry before storing it.

Soaking for Stubborn Stains:

  • If colours persist after scrubbing under running water or have been on your pet for several days, consider soaking it in water for 20 minutes. For stubborn stains, an overnight soak may be necessary.

Additional Tips:

  • Fresh colouring is easier to clean. Soap has little effect on cleaning your pets. Fresh colouring typically requires a rinse under the faucet, while concentrated colouring may require light scrubbing under a faucet or an overnight soak.

Our experts recommend the following tips for best results.

  • A little goes a long way! A few drops of Ultra-Clean ink is all you need for your masterpiece.
  • Don’t pump too fast. This could cause your unit to skip. If this happens, slow down and start again.
  • After you’re finished creating, clean your unit by wiping it with a paper towel.
  • Use the storage compartment on the bottom of the base to stay organized.

Warping occurs when the edges dry more quickly than the inside of the piece. Turning the flat piece(s) periodically; half hour to an hour, will prevent warping. If possible, dry the flat art piece on a rack. The air gets underneath and helps it dry without warping.
