Dried and sealed pieces made with Crayola® Air-Dry Clay are not waterproof, so we recommend displaying finished pieces indoors.

Throughout Crayola’s history, several crayon colours have been retired, marking significant moments in the evolution of our vibrant palette. 

1990
For the first time in Crayola history eight colours were retired and placed in the Crayola Hall of Fame: blue gray, green blue, lemon yellow, maize, orange red, orange yellow, raw umber, and violet blue. 

Eight new colours were added: cerulean, dandelion, fuchsia, jungle green, royal purple, teal blue, vivid tangerine, and wild strawberry. 

2003
Celebrating a century of bringing colour to the world, Crayola introduced four new colours named by Crayola fans! To make room for the new hues, we bid farewell to blizzard blue, magic mint, mulberry, and teal blue. 

The four new colours that were introduced are: inchworm, jazzberry jam, mango tango, and wild blue yonder. 

Kudos to our hue heroes – the consumers who voted in the ​“Save the Shade” campaign, ensuring burnt sienna stayed in the pack. 

2017
To mark National Crayon Day on March 31st, we announced Dandelion was leaving the pack. To honor this iconic colour, we sent Dandelion on a retirement tour to his favorite places. His replacement, Bluetiful, was announced on May 5, 2017.

Have questions about your Color Wonder Magic Light Brush? We have the answers! For Best Results: Always protect your work surface! If your set has a paint pot strip, it must be snapped into the base until it clicks for the Magic Light Brush to operate, with the power switch in the ​“on” position. – The unit is ​“on” when the switch is under the l. The O indicates ​“off”. Check the brush tip to be sure it is tightened. To activate the light brush, hold the brush tip over a single paint pad/​pot. Watch the bristles turn the colour of the paint inside. Dip the bristles into the colour you want and start painting on the colouring book page (a thin layer of paint works best). The brush tip will stay illuminated for approximately 10 seconds while it goes from paint to paper. Between each colour change, wipe the bristles with a dry paper towel. Be sure to snap on the paint covers after creating, to prevent paint from drying out. Battery Savers: To help preserve battery life, the Magic Light Brush will automatically turn off after 5 minutes if unused. To reactivate, push power switch to ​“off” and then back ​“on”. Crayola® Model Magic®, whether still wet (as sold) or dried, may be disposed of as a household waste. There are no known restrictions for its transportation or disposal. Typical curbside-pickup household waste systems may be used for environmentally safe disposal.

Although CRAYOLA washable products are water-based and designed to wash from skin and nearly all children’s clothing, the dyes and pigments included in Crayola washable products react differently to various skin types, depending on a person’s body chemistry. Normally, Crayola washable products can be removed from the skin by washing with soap and water. If you are unsuccessful with soap and water, try using baby wipes, baby oil or make-up remover. Since Crayola washable products are water-based, you may find that keeping the area moist with water will help to lift the stain. Crayola® Modeling Clay is intentionally designed to retain its pliability, ensuring endless hours of creativity. It’s not suitable for hardening, baking, or painting as it’s formulated exclusively for molding and shaping. Embrace its versatility, with a range of assorted colours, for continuous artistic adventures!

Warping occurs when the edges dry more quickly than the inside of the piece. Turning the flat piece(s) periodically; half hour to an hour, will prevent warping. If possible, dry the flat art piece on a rack. The air gets underneath and helps it dry without warping.

We currently use 13 different coloured labels for CRAYOLA Crayons. The labels are made of vat dyed construction paper and purchased through an outside vendor. We manufacture more than 120 different Crayola Crayon colours, however, we do not have a crayon label to match each of these colours.
