Steps:
Cut construction paper to measure approximately 12”H x 6”W. Set extra construction paper strip aside.
Draw flower shapes with metallic and broad line markers.
Fold paper in half vertically with flowers facing outward.
Cut slit on folded side of paper approximately 2”H.
Repeat step 4 along full length of folded paper, creating slits approximately 1 1/2” apart.
Unfold construction paper and place horizontally.
Cut 2 pieces gold construction paper approximately 1”H x 12”W.
Glue gold paper strips to top and bottom edges of flowered construction paper.
Add glitter glue designs to gold paper strips. Let all glue steps dry 3–4 hours.
Glue edges of construction paper together, creating lantern shape.
Glue extra construction paper strip from step 1 to create lantern handle.
Place battery-operated tea light into lantern.
Use as a Diwali decoration and celebrate!
